Accommodation SkiBirken 2025

img5632

Due to the Speed Skating World Championships in Hamar and the Alpine World Cup in Lillehammer taking place the same weekend as SkiBirken, there are fewer available accommodations than usual. If you are still looking for a place to stay, we have some great tips for you. There are still plenty of options in Rena and the Lillehammer area.

Accommodation in Rena
Follow in the footsteps of Birkebeiners and stay on mattresses in classrooms alongside other participants. Booking deadline: March 11.

Birken offers mattress accommodation at schools and sports halls in Rena:

  • For Birkebeinerrennet (Friday night to Saturday)
  • For SkøyteBirken/TurBirken (Thursday night to Friday)

Book your stay when registering or via My Page.

  • Bring your own sleeping bag and optional bed sheet.
  • Evening meals can be purchased on-site or nearby.
  • Breakfast is included in the price.
  • We will accommodate group requests if you wish to stay with others.

Additionally, we recommend checking Airbnb and Finn.no, as many private homes and cabins are available for rent in the area.

Accommodation in Lillehammer
Lillehammer and the surrounding areas offer several accommodation options. In addition to hotels, Airbnb is a good alternative, as many locals rent out private accommodations.

Hotels:

Accommodation in Hafjell (with bus connections to the race):

Accommodation in Sjusjøen
A great option for HalvBirken and UngdomsBirken participants is to stay at Sjusjøen, where the races start. If you are participating in other distances, buses will take you from Sjusjøen to the starting area in Rena.

Other Alternatives
Hamar, Brumunddal, and Elverum are also good options. There are buses from these locations to the race start, and tickets can be booked via Min Side. See the bus schedule here!
